GARLIC MASHED POTATOES

 

Most Ingredients in This GARLIC MASHED POTATOES Recipe can be Bought in Good Health Food Shops and Supermarkets. The best Recipes are made with a blending of many flavors. 2 lbs. baking potatoes, peeled and cubed

 

4 large garlic cloves, peeled and halved

 

1/4 cup fat-free sour cream

 

2 Tbsp. Skim milk

 

1 Tbsp. Reduced-calorie stick margarine

 

1/2 tsp. Salt

 

Dash of ground pepper

 

Put potatoes and garlic in a large saucepan. Add water to cover. Bring to a boil. Cover and reduce heat. Simmer for 20 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Drain and return potatoes and garlic to pan. Using a mixer, beat at medium speed for 1 minute or until smooth. Add source cream and remaining ingredients. Beat until well blended.

 Garlic mashed potatoes is the signature garnish for non-pasta plates, and there's not a risotto or polenta in sight. Oddities can pop up on the specials' sheet, such as spinach buerrecks - baked filo triangles filled with feta, spinach and walnuts in basil pesto cream. Garlic mashed potatoes is my favourite. Start by peeling eight medium sized baking potatoes. Put the peeled potatoes into a pan of cold water right after you peel each one to prevent darkening. Add in the milk, 3 tablespoons of the steak sauce, onion and green pepper. Blend all of the ingredients until thoroughly mixed.

 

Add all the “crap” (cream, sour cream, etc.) to the remaining batch. Or you could make garlic or wasabe mashed potatoes and not need all that extra fat for taste. Cream sauces are not a dieter’s friend. If the sauce is based on dairy cream, it will be high calorie and have a high fat content. Creamed spinich tasted like boiled spinich w/ mile and consistency was very soupy. Garlic Mashed potatoes were very thin and no garlic flavor.

 

Add salt-and-pepper to taste. Add the garlic to a medium sized saucepan. Pour in the half-and-half cream and cook over medium heat until hot. Add in the milk, 3 tablespoons of the steak sauce, onion and green pepper. Blend all of the ingredients until thoroughly mixed.

 

Add them to the crock pot. Combine cream cheese, ranch dressing, and cream of mushroom soup in a bowl.
